Overview
MultiLab III in an integrated process monitoring, remote control, data acquisition and reporting system for the Maselli range of in-line analysers. From a single location it will monitor up to eight lines simultaneously, providing a clear and simple yet sophisticated overview of the complete production process. As well as real time monitoring, MultiLab III displays historical process trends, collects data for quality audit reporting, and allows remote control of all analyser functions.

Remote Control
From MultiLab III all remote analyser functions can be monitored and adjusted from a single location without having to access the individual analyser control panels:

  • Change calibration curves
  • Send new recipe information at product changeover
  • Change operating parameters (alarms, targets, etc.)
  • Acknowledge and silence process alarms
  • View analyser diagnostics
  • Manually adjust water/syrup ratio
  • Manually adjust CO2 pressure in the saturator tank, or the CO2 injection flow rate

Product Recipe Management
MultiLab III can store recipe information for up to 1000 products and automatically send this data to the in-line analysers at product changeover. Recipe data is also used to format quality audit reports and the built in SPC functions:

  • Product name & short code
  • Brix & carbonation targets
  • Brix & carbonation specification limits
  • Filler stop alarm thresholds
  • Auto/manual control function
  • SPC parameters

Data Analysis & Reporting
MultiLab III can display and analyse real time data as well as data from historical production files. This analysis can be either graphical or numerical and provided as an on screen or hard copy report. Statistical and quality parameters for brix and carbonation include:

  • Maximum and minimum
  • Average
  • Standard deviation
  • Quality Parameters Ca, Cp, Cpk
  • Percentage of production within specification
  • Line stop frequency and duration

Other Process Variables
MultiLab-III can accept input data from other field instruments/signals and include this information in its reporting, for example:

  • Filler speed (CPM/BPM)
  • Pasteuriser temperature
  • Flow rates

Networking
MultiLab-III will operate over a standard factory LAN with other client computers. This allows personnel in other departments to view real time data from each line, and to print reports, graphs and statistical analyses.

Remote diagnostics
Through a VPN or modem connection, Maselli's technical department can connect to the MultiLab-III system and interact directly with the field analysers to perform remote diagnostics, trouble-shooting and upgrades as required.
